Olbermann, Off The Top Rope

A Special Comment about the President’s cataclysmic deception about Iran.

We have either a president who is too dishonest to restrain himself from invoking World War Three about Iran at least six weeks after he had to have known that the analogy would be fantastic, irresponsible hyperbole — or we have a president too transcendently stupid not to have asked — at what now appears to have been a series of opportunities to do so — whether the fairy tales he either created or was fed, were still even remotely plausible.

My comments, Mr. Bush, are often dismissed as simple repetitions of the phrase “George Bush has no business being president.” Well, guess what? Tonight: hanged by your own words… convicted by your own deliberate lies…

You, sir, have no business… being president.

Keith Olbermann has given some fantastic editorial monologues in the past few years but, this is his greatest.

His opus of sledgehammer eloquence.

He’s the only one of the cable talking heads I can watch for more than a few minutes without vomiting.

Both the liberal and conservative media have had a heyday with this Administration, and it’s hard for me to grasp how the two sides could see this Administration so utterly differently: One side proclaiming heroism and stoicism, the other side buffoonery and chicanery.

About 10 or 20 years from now - once historians have had a chance to look back on this President - a web side dedicated to the defining statements made by both sides might be of great interest and possibly great humor.

BTW, this article - http://dailymail.com/Opinion/DonSurber/200712060166 - sort of gives an opinion of why the outing of the NIE report shows what a great - no, GREATEST - President George Bush really is.

I watched this live and was transfixed. It was the best commentary on the failures, lies, and abuse of our Constitution by this administration I have seen yet. Bush got us into the Iraq War based on lies and was trying to get us into a war with Iran on lies. Thankfully the NIE (which Mike Huckabee is just learning about :) came out to the rest of the world before that path was taken. January 20, 2009 cannot come soon enough.
