Rage Against The Machine

The Board of Elections and the local media have done a piss poor job of notifying the public as to the location of polling places in the 60th Senate District Special Election. It’s almost like we live in Florida…Figmo details the shenanigans...

Call 858-8891 to find the location of your local polling place. You’ll need to provide them with your address so they can deduce from their cryptic and secretive logs where you should go to cast a vote. I know that the DEL10 and DEL12 districts have been consolidated into one polling place at St. Mark’s Elementary School on Woodward Avenue.

When I went to St. Mark’s to vote on my lunch hour, the elections inspector said she had seen less than 10 people all day. This is exactly what the political machine wants, apathetic and confused voters. The machine picked the candidates and now, they’re about to pick the Senator for you. Vote for Coppola, Vote For Jacobs, hell, Vote For Pedro if you want…stick it to the man and just VOTE!

Hey, a whopping 7 percent actually voted! Cappola will be laughing his silly head all the way to the bank. And then we wonder why nothing ever gets done around here, you know?

  2. Says:

Even with a low turnout of 7%, Jacobs showing bodes well for another run in November. The interesting part of the November race is whether Anotine Thompson decides to challenge Coppola in the primary or possibly split the Democratic vote by running on a minor party line. If either happens, I think Jacobs will have a decent shot at winning.

    Egriu: My Reasons For Running

State Senate candidate Eddie Egriu is congratulating both the winners and the losers in Tuesday’s special election while also setting forth his own reasons for running.

“I want to congratulate Erie County Democratic Chairman Len Lenihan for keeping this seat in the Democratic column and also Chris Jacobs for running a really good race,” Egriu declares. “I am going to be running for the State Senate in the September Democratic Primary based on my stands on three major issues:

“#1 I am unequivocally against bringing a casino to Buffalo,” he states. “Why? Because I know from my personal research that there is no city in America that has gained more than it lost through Native American gambling and Buffalo will be no different.

#2 I am against the relicensing of the Niagara Power Authority. Instead, I want Western New York to take over its own power generation so we can finally achieve the low utility rates we’ve been promised but have never gotten.

And, #3, I want all toxic waste sites in our area cleaned up immediately so that we are no longer the cancer and heart disease capitals of the nation!”

Egriu vows to continue fighting as hard as he can until all of these goals are realized.

“I am definitely going to be out there,” he vows. “The other candidates are definitely going to have to deal with me. My voice is going to be heard!”
